KONSTANTIN GRCIC & KGID OFFICE FOR MAHARAM: FRAME

refugium KONSTANTIN GRCIC & KGID OFFICE FOR MAHARAM- FRAME

When Michael Maharam, the driving force behind Maharam textiles and a bag fanatic, commissioned some of his favorite designers -Konstantin Grcic, Jasper Morrison, Klaartje Martens, and Hella Jongerius- to design bags ‘suited to their personal needs’ and a small-scale production, the Munich-based KGID Office came up with Three and Frame. In the latter a lattice of black webbing and soft geodesic structure creates an outer framework for the actual bag, which is made of ripstop nylon, tissue thin synthetic material. The slouchy, lightweight carryall bag comes in signal orange or blue/Indigo, and the base is in durable vinyl. (mb) http://konstantin-grcic.com/
