Berlin-born and Kassel-based designer Hanna Krüger (°79) borrowed from the forms of historical glass bottles and receptacles to create this VAISS.EAU pendant lamp, updating traditional and manual production methods into a contemporary products
The peculiar exterior form and especially the inward curvature at the bottom refer to the shape of old glass bottles. The lamp has a mouth-blown double-walled glass body, which combines lampshade, reflector and illuminated space in one single form. The cable is coiled inside the glass body, and all technical details are left visible – to create an image that alternates between luminaire and technical glass apparatus. Diameter: 27cm; Height: 33 cm. The glass comes in different colors. Hanna Krüger graduated in product design at the Kunsthochschule Kassel in 2011, the year in which she also started her own studio.
