SOON AT THE REFUGIUM :: MIRKO MIELKE: CAUSEUSE+

Communication as/is a construction site. Mirko Mielke builts Design-theses, to bring people into the right position for a dialogic progress. Built out of construction planks, one of the most ubiquitous and most typical of all Berlin materials, the Causeuse+ controls the construction site, Meeting on a Causeuse+ is personal and intimate. It forces the partners to sit face to face. The bodies sit naturally. Yet the conversationalists realize that a frame and respect matters. Born 1976 in Hamburg, Mielke studied visual communication and experimental design at the Berlin University of the Arts and photography and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologne, Italy. Since 2004 he has been documenting the disappearance of buildings. In his photographs and installations, architecture becomes a carrier of visual communication and thus an independent object of perception. (mb)www.mirkomielke.de.
