SOON AT THE REFUGIUM :: JOA HERRENKNECHT: KOGI BLUE

Kogi are a family of lamps made from, Tyvek®, a flash spun high-density polyethylene fiber. Constructed out of triangles, in a distinct geometric language, they either wear the natural appearance of the shade, or are injected with various colors, which when lit reveal the strong textural qualities of the paper-like medium. 80cm x 40cm x 30cm. Born in Saskatoon, Canada and raised in South-West Germany, where she studied at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe, Joa Herrenknecht has both South American and German roots. Currently based in Berlin, she worked for Luigi Colani, as well as for Patricia Urquiola in Milan, Italy.
